But they do send some traffic to your site if you tag your sites appropriately.

However, there are thousands of bookmarking sites available, and more being created every day. Finding these services and bookmarking your site on them may provide some benefit in terms of PR. You'd have to visit each one, check to see if it is no-follow or not, and then decide if it is worth the time to sign up for each service just to bookmark your site there. I don't think it is. I think you are better off bookmarking your site in one or two of the biggest services, and then focusing your energy on more productive activities, like writing quality content, writing articles, etc.--something that provides value to users instead of just trying to get a cheap link.
