123 reg faces XSS problems

It seems that 123-reg has serious issues with their customer support and with their site in general.

Today I read at blogstorm that they use parked pages for many domains without the user wants them, and their parking page can be changed using a simple XSS technique which let spammers add their links to the page.

I guess this is not a company to cooperate with....

I'm happy that I never heard from them before :)

They are my domain registrars :( though luckily I don't use their parking service.
Shame they have the best dns access going, i.e direct access to your records to change as you wish and text spf records etc even access via ssh.

It wil be highly embarrassing for them to explain as they are part of a much larger company called pipex which Olaf you might have heard of? and so not only provide services under their own name but that of pipex so potentially this problem could effect webfusion and pipex customers to :(

lol Pipex is the third largest internet provider in Europe ;) though it goes by loads of various names, its also the second largest host after 1&1.

I guess they have more business in UK (or is it GB?)

btw. I know 1&1 very well :)

Thanks for the information about Pipex...

123 reg should be shut down by government, these people are absolutely useless!

I had about 12 domains with Lycos and lycos do not let you point the domains to dedicated servers and so I moved all 12 domains to 123 reg, this was three months back. The .co.uk domains went to 123 reg no problems, but the .com domains would not go and were just stuck in cyberspace. I emailed Lycos- who said it was 123 reg's fault. I emailed 123 reg loads of times with no response. I can't get hold of 123 reg and so I clicked on cancel in the control panel.

Now I don't know where the domains are. I have contected ICANN and Tucows, who are no help at all.

You go to the Tucows site and there is a contact form that says "only use this form if you have exhausted all other forms of contact with your domain registrar", so obviously you cannot contact 123 reg!

When you click on submit it sends the email to - guess who?
