Some promotion tips

  • Submit your site to web directories
  • Post reviews on other sites ( eg. book reviews in Amazon )
  • Submit to classified ads web sites
  • Create a blog
  • Put RSS feeds on your site
  • Create a top sites list, and submit your site to other's
  • Create contests in your site
  • Apply for web awards
  • Find high traffic forums in the topic of your site and post with a signature with your url. You can also add comments to blogs with your url. But don't spam
  • Add links to relevant articles of your site's content to Wikipedia
  • Send a press release
  • Publish articles to other sites
  • Create content. This is the best of all, and as the pros sais content is king!

Just a quick question - How does putting RSS feeds on site help to promote it?

Search engines like sites with rss ( actually they index them more often) , but there is also another promotion tip about rss.

There are many rss directories where you can submit your feeds, plus you can syndicate your content with other websites which is also very good.

This is actually some great tips, I never knew that search engines index your site more often if you have a RSS Feed on it.

I've submited my rss feeds once and I get a descent ammount of traffic from them(about 1500 visits per month) even with our feeds written in Greek language.

You can put news or articles. Ofcourse you do not provide the whole article in your feed, but a small piece that will make the reader visit your site.

I don't think so. RSS is a coding issue, so propably you'll need to pay a programmer to make this for you
