Please share your experiences with Amazon's affiliate system.

Is there anyone here that earned some money with them?

I tried to use their program in the past, but no luck at all  :(

When I've started using affiliate programs, I signed up for the Amazon's program, but I haven't made a single sale!

I am not sure if this is because I was inexperienced as a webmaster back then, or because the affiliate program of Amazon is not good.

I've tried it as well and haven't made anything from it. I just don't think it is likely that a visitor from your site will make a sale, most people probably wouldn't even buy the item after coming from your site, they would most likely come back later making you lose the commission.

Adrevel has a good point, when I buy things online I like to bookmark the item and then check other websites or similar items. I think you could rarely make a sale.

What is the process for applying for the Amazon Affiliate Network if you're not in the US?  Nikolas, can you please share?  From their website, it seems as if you have to file some sort of tax forms.

To be honest I don't remember because a lot of time passed since my application. But affiliate programs that need tax information, is only for us residents, so if you are a non us resident you leave this field blank and there is no prob with that

Whats the payout?

Amazon pays a percentage of every sale that you make, but I am not sure what is the exact number

Amazon sucks! I had to wait for 3 years to complete my minimum payout ($100). My site receives 50,000 uniques and I used keyword-based products on pages receiving high traffic. The only products sold are books and affiliates receive only a few cents per sale.

I have marginal success with Amazon but am rolling out a site in Agust which will likely use Amazon almost exclusively and if my concepts are correct I think it could pay a couple hundred dollars per month within a year.
