Hi,

I'm working on optimizing a website which used to have very long title tags i.e. 12 words long. Now I?ve reduced it to 7.

It used to be something like this:

Clients website name Ltd - Personal injury solicitors clinical negligence human rights lawyers

And now reads:

Personal injury lawyers - Clients website name solicitors

It looks better but do you think this will lose me a lot of traffic?

Sorry can't disclose actual site.

the second is much better because the key words are in front of the company name

I agree with Olaf. Now regarding the size have in mind that google will get (for displaying in SERPs) up to 67 characters

Google displays 65 but indexes up to 1137 characters; so it is indexed but it is not displayed. For a nice user experience less is better.

Can I ask the source of these 1137 chars indexed by google?

You could read more on http://www.highrankings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=37810. I think there are 1129, not 1137. My mistake.

Dear, it is also too big for the search engines to indexed it. Please try to shortened that keyword.

just keep it 60 to 70 characters long and use your keyword appropriately...
