Anyone has tried those automated link exchanges
Like the Co-op from Digital point
or this one
http://www.linksmaster.com/
They promise that you will get overtime
lots of links (but aren't the links rotated ? so I see no permanent links ?)
Any experience good bad or ugly ?

I think the only thing that works are hard link trades, never found that these are working since a number of impressions could not be real.
look google is working with impressions en clicks too but they have a big stuff of people to keep the quality high.
try TLA and buy some good links, write tutorials and submit them to tutorial sites and you get really traffic...

Such programs belong to the past. Google wont "like" the fact that you'll get hundreds of links in 1 day, and the most of these links are irrelevant.

I found that most of the links acquired are totally irrelevant to the theme. I find organic link building, even if consumes lots of time is getting good result.

The new "generation" of link building is the social bookmarking. The idea is that you post good content (that people like) and then people will bookmark it, promote it, link it and in general they will do the job for you ;)
I know that it sounds easy but of course it isn't as you need experience in content writing but it really worths your effort.

Yes, content plays a pivotal role. If the content is informative and useful many will book mark it.
