I will say SEO (search engine optimization) because it is long term policy and it can help you a lot to promote your website ans business on search engine as well as on social media sites.

There is no special technique that applies to an affiliate website that doesn't apply to a non-affiliate website.

Only one thing extra. Create a mailing list. People that land to your site wont buy the first time, but if you give them something good as a freebie to join your list and build some trust by sending them interesting stuff they will buy from you.

Duncan is pretty much spot on. Pretty much the same principles and "rules" apply no matter what marketing strategy you use, even if there are different considerations behind each of the. The point is that you can use pretty much anything to advertise and it being an affiliate website won't make that much difference.

Yeah SEO like you would with any other website. There no better promotion than being on google page one  on the first possition. Youl get most of the traffic for your keyworda and conversion will rise imediately
