Blog Flipping

I was discussing with a friend about this new (or it may be old) kind of business where one makes a new blog, writes new unique content everyday/every week and sells the blog after 1 year to earn decent money.

Do you think it's a profitable business? I suppose 52 weekly entries of 500 words each would cost $250 even if you hire an article writer. Can one year old blog sell for $1000? Or the blog flippers are using duplicate rewritten content?

depends on traffic and links, just the content is not enough

And the problem is that in most cases you get duplicate content. I don't find a reason of selling a blog full of unique content (consider that content is a king ;) ) before I monetize it.

Nikolas - I assume you mean 'Unique Content is King'!!!

There are many solutions to automatically populate a blog with unique content. HOWEVER, if you intend to flip it, it has to look 'OK' to a human, too, and that is a HELL of a lot harder (so markov, caffeinated content, rss scrapers etc just won't do it. You'll add nothing to the value of the blog over it's "intrinsics") - in fact, I know of only one 'solution' that will do it for you automatically... obviously!

That's right. Personally I don't like automated solutions to flip content, as this would also be bad for visitors, but I guess it is an option (especially if you don't care about copyrights ;) )

And anyway writing a link bait article is a human's job :)

Well I guess the age is not that a big factor, what matter most  is the content of your website.

You know unique content is the basis of any web site in terms of SEO purposes.

Yes it should be profitable if you put an equal amount of importance on building backlinks for your blog.

I don't think so that flipping a website could help to get a good amount of bucks in your pocket. It will defiantly help some how to get but this could be just an optional work to get those. If the websites are working fine enough to get those we are ready to go ahead continuing with the same old website to work on.

I don't believe so that turn over a website might help to get a good amount of bucks in your pocket. It will disobediently help a number of how to obtain other than this could be just an elective work to get those. If the websites are working fine sufficient to get those we are prepared to go in front ongoing with the same old website to job on.
