Blog or Forum?

Which one is suitable/helpful to get high traffic through the other sources like Blog or Forum

I don't do blog that much. I mostly attend forums. But if I'll base it from my observations and testimonials of other webmasters, blog is one way to create more traffic. Bloggers use blog commenting and link building for traffic.

I made a domain to host a weblog and just did a google search on "blog software comparison" to see what was available. I found a site which showed listings of the different blog software and their capabilities.

I think forums are more useful to get back links than blogs.

One question about this is, which among the two is commonly use to build backlinks? Which among the two have large number of users?

My choice is forum. Because there is more people in forum.

Yep, forums are my choice too.
They have a higher traffic rate (when they have proper SEO) :)

I prefer forums more than blog because there are numerous forums online which you can participate. And most response or post you create are automatically approved. Unlike in Blogs, you need to wait for the owner of the blog to approve it so more or less, the feedback on their blog posts are subjective - they only approve if they want to. On this case, forums are more helpful and useful than blogs.

Signature forum link is those forums which allows members to put signature links going to their own site, right? It is also one of the ways to build links and for SEO.

Blog is useful to drive more traffic in less time.

TIPS:
1) Update the Fresh Quality Content Regularly,
2) Add the videos,
3) Add the Images,
4) Share the blog in the Social Networks like Twitter, Facebook Etc.

Probably i also recommend now forums because in last Google PR update of 27th of June i have seen my backlinks that all were from Forums.

Both are not according to me social bookmarking and also social networking sites are the best way to gain traffic.

I like Forum. Here you can interact, learn and attract a lot of traffic. logging is a nice way to draw traffic too but it need to be very popular.

You should do both.  IF you create a blog to your domain then you can link bait and get more traffic, you can blog comment on other blogs as well.  A forum is good.  Create your own forum, if is real good you will get a lot of traffic.

my choice is forum because by doing forum we can see a great change or hike in our site's ranking

Blog and articles are the most useful techniques to get traffic but social bookmarking is equally important...
