Connecting Cart to Database

Hi .. i am recently working on an e-commerce website ... which i am creating for my own .
The designing part is almost completed ..... and the portion where i got stuck is the connection of a particular product in cart ... with the database!!
I am using MyphpAdmin on my local desktop!! And my db is on sql !!
I am looking for a php code or a sketch of how the database is linked to the site!!
Please help me out .. if you got any sort of helping links!!
