Which one is better from link building point of view?

Backlinks from top directories are slightly more powerful than those from social bookmarking sites. Though you need both to fair well on search results.

Hmm,,, Directory is good for link building and social bookmarking for traffic...!!
But i personally think article submission covers both part!!!

Depends on the PR and quality of the particular directory or social book marking site. Both are good. Choose high PR social book marking sites and for directory submit your links on reputed directories which are human edited.

High PR and traffic dofollow forums. Do article writing too. They tend to get indexed quickly
