I have this wierd problem... everything opens in FF and I am trying to find out how to stop it from doing that. If I open IE and type in a new web address, the site will open in firefox and IE goes nowhere and even if a click on a link in IE that has a target _blank, it will open a new blank IE and then open the site in a new FF window too.
Any ideas? ???

you have to set either browser as your default web browser, whichever it is that you choose

FF is my default, but that shouldn't stop me from using IE.

have you tried setting IE as default and vice versa (im sure you have). you can also try disabling all popup blockers? and set settings to defaults for IE

It sounds like a virus to me.
Maybe run some antivirus software, or try to uninstall firefox and install it again

I virus scanner runs everyday at 3am, I think that it maybe something corrupt with FF.

Then you should uninstall it.
Or try something like a registry cleaner.
Ayway this seems like an os prob not firefox's itself.

Oh I forgot!
You can allways use the 'format' solution. It is the best after all :)

Then you should install something like Opera

no i would suggest what nikolas said earlier about uninstall/reinstall Firefox, formatting isnt worth the trouble for such a small prob, and i very seriously doubt this is virus or spyware.. this sounds more like a software misconfiguration problem to me

It seems that Microsoft chooses the bugs to release very carefully.....
