Has anyone used Looksmart's Furl as a promotion tool?

Can you share some information?

That is a nice resource?

But Nicolas, how are you planning to use it as a promotion tool?

I am not really sure, but I think that furl is like digg.com in some way.

So you will be able to post your articles.

I am saying "I think", because I haven't sign up yet.

If there was a way to reach the users who have relevant categories, this would be a great promotion tool.  Where do FURL users hang out?  Where can one grab their attention?  I have been wrestling with this one, and I am certain there is an answer, but...

OK, just to keep this going a bit, does it help to have multiple furl accounts list a website in any way.  I just went and furled my three main websites, a few client sites and a couple friend's sites to get going.  So, for instance, one of my sites is furled at http://www.furl.net/item.jsp?id=7213929 .  Would it help to send this along to friends and ask them to furl that page?  or to furl my actual site?  Just thinking out loud here...

OK.  I have built a couple links to my Furl page.  Google has now cached it.  It does not appear that Google has cached the category pages.  I am soooo tempted to place a link here to one of them to see if Google will cache it, but I want to see first whether Google will eventually cache the category pages on its own.

My Furl page is at http://www.furl.net/members/amabaie.  Presumably, if I drive traffic there, some other people will Furl some of my sites, and grow the popularity.  So how to drive traffic there?  Or does it make more sense to drive traffic to the categories individually?

Any ideas?

Furl doesn't have an option like the 'digg all' option at digg?

I suppose it will have, so you'll have to wait without doing anything else.

It is the 'Digg for stories' link on the right side column.

I just made an account with Furl, and submited some sites, but I don't see any traffic increase.

Maybe this is because it is late in USA now.

I will see how it goes, and let you know :)

EDIT:

My first impression from the site, is that it is very slow, and some times I get some errors....

Don't think that furl is often used from the public... there are bigger sites...

Hi Nick,

I think furl is a way to get your link into that looksmart network (without to pay)

how about spurl do you have good experience with this?

Not either.

I think except the big sites, the rest are simplly not worth much (or they send up to 50- 100 visitors)
