Sounds like a way to earn extra cash. Just gotta figure out how to integrate them into a free site.

Nathan, you need much more traffic than with regular adsense ads to earn some money with referrals

I'm getting very decent traffic now to ChristNet and my other sites.

These days Google announced that the product Referrals 2.0 will become available to the most of their publishers. Yesterday I got the chance to have a first look on this new product. The first thing I noticed is that its very easy to use, just like the...

Vince if you check the features provided by CJ you will see that Google will never provide this service. The best thing google can do to offer only selected advertisers the referral service

Maybe they are looking in the future where the cpc model will be as the cpm is now. I mean all the specialists say that in 10 years the market will work with cpa programs instead of cpc that we use now.

sure CPA is the only "fair" advertising method for both the publisher and the advertiser

Yes, the lack of a company that works this way made me start this project :)

I guess in the future we'll have contextual versions of the big CPA networks.

That would be a plan. Recently I got some offer to get involved in a new network which will provide contextual ads for CPA but I am not sure if I will finally do it, as there is lack of time for a project like this.

Today I saw the "you are accepted to referrals 2.0 program" and started over with it.

It looks that they give a contextual solution to CPA programs. You peak up some categories that fit your site's content, and they give you a code that displays ads from these categories.

I guess it is a nice program, but I'll have to see the conversions to know better :)

it seems that the categories are not longer spammed by non related ads, maybe I will give it a try...

what i dont like with it is if i have a site covering different topics, then i have to install many different codes to show relevant ads.

don't place PPA ads the same way than ppc ads (is my experience)

why so?

olaf
Tue 31 July 2007, 10:42 am GMT +0200
why so?

I used random (related) ads on different website and never sold a product. Now I use one or two products on a related website (you need to test which one works) and have good earnings. (thats why I think that Google is not a big success at least for me)

I tested related tags with auctionads and I have the idea that the number of sales is not higher than showing ads from one (or two) keywords

maybe google adsense should show high converting ads more frequently like in their ppc ads where the high ctr ads gets shown more often.
