Google has joined the Eclipse Foundation, which describes itself as "an open source community whose projects are focused on providing a vendor-neutral open development platform and application frameworks for building software." This puts Google in close proximity to some other big companies, such as Intel and Motorola, which are already involved with Eclipse.
