Hi there, I am a 23 year old guy from London, England and I have started a website design company. I employ a collective of high quality designers, coders, PR & Marketing people and cater towards smaller/startup businesses.

I am putting in all my time and effort to this and am 100% dedicated to making it work. I am convinced of the limitless commercial potential on the internet and am excited about the future.

Hope this finds you all well.

Hi, I wish you good luck with your new company.

What I find is that the competition is brutal out there, and with the economic downturn there are much fewer projects.
But if you have local face to face customers then your chances of getting business are better. Nevertheless the crisis has impacted on the amount of available business, and that means less businesses are contracting new web sites or doing work on their existing ones.

Hi, many thanks :)

Yes I would absolutely agree with you, and I'm sure this will significantly impact growth. It is however also very apparent to me that there are 'sources' almost that can be abundant - word of mouth and recommendations being a biggy. I had a friend make a recommendation to a small parents group online and had six clients from the same group within 6 weeks.

At the mo I'm trying to cover the basics - the googles and directories etc but I am finding that a little more imagination seems to be the trick - local mailouts etc. I am also splitting between national/local and online/offline - working on each as its own sort of thing which helps.

Hi Chris and welcome to webdigity.

John is right, but yet if you are good at what you do an economic downturn can't really stop you ;)

I was 21 when I started my business and even that it was really hard - and I really mean that - I know that it was the good decision. Good luck with your venture :)
