I discovered that it can take several weeks until google finds new links to your website or at least displays them in the webmastertools.
How long does is normally take and is it also dependent on the pr of the page where the link is coming from?

It depends on many factors. The only factor that is important to you is that you have to get new incoming links in a normal way. If google thinks that you get too many links fast then it wont count those links for a long time.
In general new links are discovered in 1-2 days

Nikolas is right. 1 or 2 days will be enough to discover new links.

well, noone knows what doing google crawlers, so nothing can be true. But generaly are 1-2 days... Depends on the site wjere you placed the link! if the website updates more oftener the crawler will seee the link sooner...

There are many factors to influence your indexing speed. To speed up, you can try to get more backlinks from relevant sites.
