I agree with you rosemarschall09. I have in SEO business from past couple of years. Backlinks have now become too much important. For a successful internet entrepreneur, it is important to have brief knowledge about what backlinks are and how to generate them. 

I agree with you guys, basically backlinks aids your SERPS and site PR. It will also be easier for major SE's to spider content to your site if you have many backlinks. :)

Good Content + Quality Backlinks = High on SERP

er.. search engines aren't actually that good at detecting 'good' content (except by proxy - the number of backlinks). What they ARE good at is detecting UNIQUE content. So what you should really have said, ol' crow buddy, is:-

often bad content is also non-unique, because people write about the same item hundreds of times

glad u agree Olaf - it's such a simple point. In fact, it's debatable whether search engines will EVER be able to spot 'good' content, apart from analyzing the way humans link back to it, because one definition of 'good' is that 'people like it'.

I have written some good content for my website, but I am finding a lot of duplicates and rip offs.
It seems that since people is posting my stuff on their online guild/clan website which is visited by just their friends and other few people, they can forget to put backlinks, cite sources or whatever, and instead present the content as their own.
If it was bad, they wouldn't be copying it.
It is good, and is ending up being duplicated :(
