I was wondering if this is a good idea to add our profiles to this group. I know that it is good to use this forum for obtaining and sharing information.  I am concerned that by doing this we are opening ourselves up for scrutiny by those who frown upon certain facets of one's field/fields, but deciding to blame the whole instead of the bad apples. 

I have never had a Facebook account.  Is it true that in order to join Facebook, one has to use one's real name?  In other words, they do not allow nicknames as forums do.  Is that correct?

And how they can understand if there real name or no? You don't show them your passport.
