Logo + site design contest

Well here we come with another contest :)

This time the contest is more like a trade, but let me tell you what is this all about.

In the forthcoming weeks I am about to launch a new article directory. The site will be categorized, and it will have articles on many topics.

Now let me tell you about the contest.

There are two seperate things that we want from you :

1) A custom logo

2) A custom web design layout.

I don't really care about the colors that you will use, but I want a proffesional look for the site.

You can create one of those two, or both.

Now the interesting thing, the prize....

Each of those things(layout and logo) winners will get a site wide text link for 3 months. Have in mind that the site in the day of launch will have more than 50.000 pages and it will be search engine optimized plus it will instantly get traffic from my other sites. So I suppose that this prize is a really good reward for your work.

Now if someone make both of the things we ask, he/she will get 6 months of sitewide link.

Mercury thanks for your pm, I will answer here as anyone interested in this contest should know.

• What resolution do you have in mind?
I want to be visible with 1024x768, but if it could work with 800x600 too would be the best
• Are you just putting articles and such on the site?
The site will be something like a directory. There will be the main categories, the sub categories, and then the listings of articles
• Do you have a preference for one,two, three, or more columns?
I would like to have something like this :

Let me explain :

Hmmm, not bad at all :)

But to be honest I am looking for something different.

I mean that it should not have too many graphics, bars etc. but it would be more simple in the look(=better navigation) and more CSS oriented.

So I would recommend to design something with white color in the background (so the articles would be easier to read) and with less graphics.

I would like to have a more official look, with fresh colors. Here are some templates that I like :

No, now I don't really feel like competing. I wish you would have said all that before I worked so hard on that one. You said you wanted something innovative, and I did something innovative. I guess you can enter the logo... I'll see if I feel nice enough to start all over again.

When's the deadline?  I just saw this thread.

Actually there is not a deadline.

If someone post something that it is good to use, is the winner. Otherwise when I will be ready to publish the site I will have to make the layout myself.

So let's say that you have about 2-4 weeks time to participate, and maybe more.

You can try, but I could not accept something too copy cat.

It must have a little inspiration, otherwise I could get a layout from template monster :)
