Well since a huge ordeal with my current host that resulted in a huge refund and a lot of free months of hosting, I am needing to move. Since now there is a bunch of hosting companies out there and not really knowing what better one or the other I thought i would ask here.

what i need is:
PHP 4 & 5 support
mysql 4.1 and/or 5
perl (with the ability to connect to remote ftp sites)

a good extra would be being able to remotely connect to the mysql databases and have the site be able to connect to remote mysql databases not hosted on the webhosted site.

bandwith and hard drive space i am flexible on.

one thing i am looking to host on it is psychostats for some of my game servers and which also requires the perl to be able to remotely ftp

I have had success with media temple
if you need it for mission critical sites avoid their gridserver
since they do have occasional downtime
but their DV solution at $50/month (some coupons going around)
has never created a problem for me (using it for last 5 months)

About your specific requests I am not sure but I think most (if not all)
hosts will let your connect to outside (or from outside) database

Personally I would recommend you to check HostBel.com , they are a good company selling dedicated servers at great prices. You can contact them for discounts though

Cheers

I'm mention the reputable company marblehost.com as their services are resource-effective and many free bonuses they offer. As for prices they are not high taking into account the amount of resources that are available for the web masters.

Have seen nice and cheap web hosting offers from inmotionhosting.com and webhostingbuzz.com.
Their services are not just cheap but resourceful.
They also offer bonuses too.

I strongly believe that ayksolutions.com will provide you with good hosting services. It is flexible enough to offer you the solution you need and it is able to serve all your specific requirements. Another important factor should be mentioned that highly trained experts will assist you in making the right choice.

Hostgator is the wise choice! What ever you do though... do NOT go through godaddy.com

You know, right from website designing to hosting it over the net, the whole process of building a successful web business is really time-consuming. The truth comes out of comparison and I recommend you to check out webintellects.com, hostican.com, vistapages.com and then choose the most appropriate for your project. good luck...

I would suggest Namecheap. They have a really good user support system. They have solved my problems within 24 hours. They even transfered my site from my previous host.

you're here for a view days and 80% of your posts is about that you like namecheap. Sure they offer web hosting since a while but that would not say that hosting with them has the same quality as their registration service.

Look, if you have some valuable to say, we're happy to know but please keep anything else for yourself

Hostgator / godaddy would be a better option at $8 approx per month budget.

I suggest Byethost, they have plans for every budget :) and the best shared hosting plans.
