Google has just created a very cool program, the google coop search engine.

What is this? Well they give you the abillity to create your own google search engine which will show results only from sites that you decide.

Cool huh? This way you can create a quallity search engine for the topics you are interested in, but the most important is that you can make money using your adsense code in the results!

Here is the webdigity's webmaster search engine Visit through proxy

So, you have to add each site you want included? Interesting concept. Are you planning on offering it somehow on your sites?

Think it will in anyhow improve PR or general SERPs results?

It's a acommunity based search, try to become a contributor of my search.

The idea is that you have themed serach engines where people find more websites they are looking for. Example: a webdev search is not very good for searching for travel related stuff.

I don't think that this search engines is good for SEO but you can promote websites of course.

Being the cynic and pessimist that I am, I wonder how G is going to get something out of this.

In the beginning it sounds like it could be useful for them to evaluate which sites have merit - but, like with most things that will probably only be useful until it gets abused.

at the end there are advertisers... this way it's easier to target related search pages by the advertiser.

I think as as an advertiser I would be happy to advertise on a page with only high quality links to websites... on the other site how about the CTR if people find what they are looking for...

I think this is related with the change in adwords regarding the search and network split.

When this happened more advertisers publish their campaigns exclusivelly to the search program, so google propably found a way to increase the number of searches.

Personally I wont usee it as a monetization way, but I think it can be usefull if you add all the good sites that you know regarding eg. web development and make your search expirience better.

That makes sense. Seems like this will lead to a new generation of MFA sites tho'. How clever would that be; have one "reputable" site, put this search on it, and list all of your spammy MFA sites.

This is true as well but assumes the list will contain only high quality links. Unfortunately, there are more poor quality sites than excellent ones like the two of you offer.

That's cool. Nice work done Olaf :)

I didn't knew that you can customize the look of your co-op search engine so much.

Google's search program for your website is fantastic. I like the way you can customize the look (to a certain extent) the page results are formated and get paid for each use.

Simply fantastic.
