New to blogging
I am a little new to this so please bear with me.
If I use Wordpress to do a blog, is it designed so that incoming links can give you reasonable rankings?

If you do some onsite SEO and some link exchanges then whatever CMS you use wouldn't matter at all...

I was following a discussion where it was stated that Wordpress' "Thesis" site option comes pre optimized for SEO, and offers a multitude of plugins to further enhance performance ....

well, according to me, use blog what every they are,, but you have to check that blog prominence, as well as its PR.. and if you are targeting any location than check it ranking, and most traffic getting getting from which region.

well, dont go with only with blog or domain, you can have many domain which are allowing free blogs, and have good content to promote.. you will get great from them..
