I am sure by now everyone knows that google updated it's toolbar PR on 31st. For me it was sort of a new year gift and some of my sites got PR :)
How was the PR update for members of this forum?

Most of us don't care about the PR (search the forum why ;))

Thanks for the response. I know why I shouldn't give much thought to PR but it's like another number that I am interested in just like unique visitors or alexa rank. I wouldn't care if my site is PR 0 but is gettings loads of traffic and people are buying stuff from it. :)

yes sure a high PR is like a kind of certificate ;)
Since google doesn't allow to sell pagerank, every webmaster should be careful with buying links lol

Agreed, buying links only for PR sucks.. I didn't bother to check the PR for this forum before I joined it.. I am just trying out alternatives for DigitalPoint. I would rather have an interesting discussion, have a healthy debate so that I can learn new things and correct myself with other's help.

You signature links are only visible to other forum members not to search engines...

I didn't know that. But it doesn't really matter as long as webdigity can give me enough learning, debates, quizzes and business, I don't care about the link :D

right the purpose of webdigity is helping people and discussing webmaster subjects (the signature is more a kind of addition to you profile)

Yeah pagerank has no value in our days. In fact as google is no longer using it as a factor for the search engine ranking I think they are just playing around with it.
For instance, my company's site was pagerank 4 and had no site (just a coming soon page) for years. Before 3 months I started the site and added a blog with many articles that got real links from other bloggers and the site now has pr3 :) That shows that pagerank can help even as a number like alexa....

hehe. that's a good one. I have seen PR for parked pages but PR going down after you start getting links is new.

my own weblog was PR6 (and was on his way for PR7), now it's a PR3 for more than a year.
The result: more organic traffic than before

So probably the less PR you have the more traffic you get, LOL :P

Dear, Google updates its PR after 3 months and it did not update its PR rank at each month's 31st.
