Pixel Ads

What do you all think about Pixel Ads?

There are thousand of them now, but it all started with milliondollarhomepage.com.  He sold advertising on his webpage to raise money for school tuition.  He charged $1.00 USD per pixel, in 100 pixel blocks.

Like I said, there are thousands of them now.  Would you pay $100.00 for an itty bitty square on a start up pixel ad page?

I would never paid a dime for so untargeted traffic.

I think that the copycats of the milliondollarhomepage wont survive for a lot of time.

This site had a great idea, but those things are not to be reproduced. I mean it is good only for the first time...

Yeah, I thought about doing that myself when I first heard about it.  Sheesh, there are tens of thousands out there.  I saw one that said MillionDollarBOOBjob "help! my wife has size A, and that is bad!" hehe.

Nikolas , no, I don't own it.  I just love it and doing my part by promoting it.

~Crystal, I guess webdigity shouldn't have paid for the link on AdminFusion.  I know it worked at least once.  I'm here.   8)

Paying for advertising isnt stupid, if you want people to come, and not just people that you know or invited over. But if your site is for friends and stuff then I guess you wouldn't need to pay for advertising.

Yeah it was a unique concept and people wanted in on the new type of site. Now all the copycats are battling... I say the original site when it was about 20% full and thought nothing of it. I can't believe people paid so much for those ads!

One of our TV programs interviewed the fellow.

With his newfound riches have come the true scum.

Someone in Germany is trying to blackmail him for $50,000 (US) otherwise they will hack his site. The fellow said that even if it takes all of the proceeds to fight them; he won't give in to their demands. The reporter said the US FBI and law officials in the UK are involved.
