Promoting an arcade site

Let me do a small prologue to this :) Before some time I realized that there are some types of automated web sites (sites that actually don't require a lot of maintenance) that make money. Checking some of the webmaster marketplaces is easy to understand that proxies and arcade sites are really profitable....

So I thought to start an experiment, and create one such site. The easiest was the proxy site, so I gone for it, and finally managed to make some decent earnings from this business, and also help some of my friends to do the same.

Anyway that is another story, and the point of this thread is that now I am going to take this expirement one step further, and create an arcade web site. For those who don't know what an arcade site is, it is simply a site that has flash games, and people can register, play - for free - online games, and actually have some fun while they are online.

The only maintenance on your behalf is that you have to add some games now and then, which is actually not a difficult thing to do. As for the site the only thing you need is to buy a ready made script to make the job for you ;)

In that part I have to say that the market does not have any valuable script - I have seen the code of the best 3 - and even the one I got wasn't the best (or at least what I expected from their order page....) In fact it took me one whole day to set it up (and I think this is too much for someone who develop sites for 8 years) plus I had to modify some things in the scripts to make it SEOed better.

Anyway, finally I have an arcade site, so the expirement can start, and in this part I will ask for your assistance. What do you think would be the best way to promote such a site? Of course I will stuble it, add it to some tag based social networks, but what would do the job beyond that? Maybe a myspace bulletin? or traffic exchange?

Also I know - from other arcade webmasters - that many people find paied ways to promote their arcade sites, which make 50-150% back their money from the ad earnings. Do you have any clue what kind of advertising would be that?

Please let me know what you think. BTW if you want, you can check the site here :

I've wanted to start a site like this, but didn't find any good scripts. You mentioned before that you are going to sell your arcade script once it's finished. Let me know if you need any beta-testers for your script ;)
If you want to do some paid advertising, I would try some things like AdWords. Just place some very low bids on terms that have a high search volume

Adwords is not a viable option, because as far as I know arcade sites get very low adsense ads. That means that the spending would be more than the earnings.

I am thinking to try a small network or even myspace (which looks like a good deal)

BTW I was thinking not to finish my arcade script when I saw that there is a lot of competition, but finally I think I will, as there are not so good programs in the market anyway....and of course you will have your free copy :P

Then you can pay me for the time I wasted on the site yesterday. Some games are very addicting...

LOL :P

Sure I will......

BTW the site seems to have some visitors, but yet no clicks on ads or anything. Propably I should wait for the adsense bot to grab the content.
