Hi!

I know a thing or 2 when it comes to promoting a web host and here is what i usually do.

I usually look for forums where you can get a site review and post a review of your website but have a subliminal advert for your web host.

Here is one i use for Forumer:

Quote
First here is the link - http://ads.x.am

I designed the forums and everything myself BTW.

Also, i can remove the ads if you want me to as it is very cheap (1USD = 6,000 ad-free page views) through Forumer (the people who host it for free).

Also if you have any suggestions you might want to suggest some from fMods (The Forumer Modification Centre).

The forum is pretty much never down either so feel free to visit it, or if think you can do better then go to the Forumer homepage and make one.

Thanks for reading, please leave some feedback.

As you can see i ask for a review of my forum as well as having links to forumer and forumer resources.  Also i give a bit of info on forumer as well as asking people to make a forum with them.

Anyway, try doing something like that if you want to promote a web host and the visitors should PILE in!

Hope this helps: :)

?ot a bad idea, but I don't think that people will ever "buy" something when you ask them for a review.

What I mean is that a site that sells something or giving something for free, needs convertions, not traffic alone.

Now as the hosting market is really saturated, I don't think that without spending thousands in advertisment you can do anything.

Just my 2 cents....

I have to admit that you have a point but there are many techniques used by my Forumer Staff and i know that a lot of people have gone to Forumer from those and paid for the ad-removal.

I think your idea to promote things while asking for a review that could work if you have something special on your site...

Your example is more like a advertisement for the service you're using, I think on most bigger forums your request for a review will moved to a different category (or will be removed), and often you have to review sites first, this way you have to work very hard to get some visitors ;)

I think the only way to promote your hosting is using coupons...

Yes, i have noticed this but i just do some reviews and get to place the promo and if someone says its an ad for the host i acn just say it aint.
