Query about Joomla

My friend is asking me if providing an e-mail for Joomla themes is safe for downloading. I also don't know what to answer. So, kindly help me on this. Thanks in advance.

Use phpmyadmin on the jos_modules table. All the admin modules have client_id=1
Set published=0 to disable them one by one until the error go away.
