Being a search engine marketer I have voted for SEO myself! What are your opinions about this question?

I vote for organic SEO too, because it has a stable impact that can continue even when you stop marketing your site.

PPC is great for fast results but it requires too much time and money.

Offtopic: Please don't post double posts ;)

SEO is long term oriented. If you have a site which will live only few months - then use PPC - it will give bring you traffic. But if you want serious business on long term - SEO is what are you looking for.

PPC is very customizable and fast. I recommend using both if you can afford to pay for PPC. Also people seem to forget that PPC is not only Adwords, but Yahoo, MSN and maybe MIVA where clicks are cheaper

Hello,

If you can I would do both because that cant hurt but long term SEO can be much more cost effective.

PPC can be turned on/off in a few seconds and you can target your city alone if you want.
This is why is so great :)

Whenever I have extra cash or have something new to promote I go with PPC, other then that I always focus my time on SEO and looking for new linkage.

If you need instant traffic then PPC is the best choice and if you need long term traffic with cost effectiveness and high ROI then SEO is best.

I prefer SEO since the results we get from SEO is in the organic listings and is more valuable.

One thing I will add though is that PPC is great for instant business. This helps when you are launching a new site and waiting to climb up the ranks. :D

PPC may be expensive, but if used properly can provide a very good ROI. Use very targeted phrases and make sure to track which phrases actually produce sales.

Should balance your time and efforts with both SEO and PPC.

I wouldn't reccomend PPC unless you are really good and have enough knowledge about it.Evene though PPC is more of immediate cash, not everyone can succeed with it

We voted for SEO! PPC is fine for short-term online advertising, but for long-term, on-going marketing, you'll want to utilize SEO--either on your own or outsource it.

Well, SEO is no doubt the better option but If someone has enough money then he must also try PPC as well as it can give results quick but there is also risk of losing money. So why take the risk, better go with SEO

My vote go for SEO. Organic traffic is always better than paid traffic.

SEO, of course! It is budgeted, long-term and continuous. PPC is more for a short-term promotion, since it can be costly.

Well, SEO of course is the better choice. Although its does take time to produce results but its more of a secure way. PPC can sometimes work well while sometimes it can fail also and all the money spent is lost. Therefore, I recommend SEO over PPC....

PPC is like renting a house.. You have to pay when you stay there.. Once you stop, you have to leave...

SEO is organic and I prefer that... Very sensible, isn't it ? ? ?

i would go with SEO..because when you use PPC the day you stop paying the ads will not be displayed and your traffic will come to halt but in SEO your posts will always be visible..

If you need long time benefit then SEO is only one best option, need not to pay more. If you need instant traffic then you can go for PPC.

Both are good enough and give same results. SEO is a free process and PPC is paid. Just the difference is that PPC give immediate results. Well both activities promote website and increase sales.

SEO, of course. This is a budgeted form of promotion to your sites and is long-term. PPC is a shorter-term method of promotion.

SEO - Its free, its for long term (as your efforts are capitalized) and it brings relevant visitors on your website.

Depends on your motives. A mix of both may be best.

It is always good to rank highly in the organic search results, but sometimes you don't have the time or desire to do SEO full-time.

I worked for a small company some years ago and they wanted to sell their products but they didn't want to wait two or more years for the results of an SEO campaign to get their site onto the first page of the search results listing. So they paid for an AdWords campaign. It was very effective, like having a full-time employee working in the office marketing their product but at a fraction of the cost. That way, people did not have to filter through pages and pages of search results that may have been research papers, hobbyist sites, etc. that were totally irrelevant to the market my company was after. They were a brick-and-mortar store, they wanted to advertise their product, didn't mind paying for ads, didn't mind if people knew they were advertising their product, etc. PPC is a VERY effective way to market a product or site.
