Social bookmarking web sites are good for traffic and for getting your site indexed in google, but I don't think it will help you with pr as most of them are nofollow links

Social Bookmarking drives a lots of traffic to your site.So do bookmarking regularly to get the targeted traffic.

Social bookmarking increases the back links of your site which increases your link popularity and hence you get index in google. So its very helpful to get index.

Even Social bookmarking are important, but don't forget your major traffic should come from Search Engine.

Agreed! We've gotten good traffic from a few like Digg, but still small in comparison to the traffic we get from search engines.

some of them are dofollow links and will therefor help with serps and pr
most are nofollow and as such will have no effect on serps but will help to drive trasffic to your site
