Interesting article. I have never thought that I am insane or mental ill, but those folks point to that :)

To be honest I have never leave my child's party, but guess why? Well because I don't have any childs :P

But seriously there are some times that I feel addicted. For example you start a new campaign or a new site, and then refreshing the stats for an hour or more, to see how it goes.

Of course this is not propably because of an addiction or mental illness but rather because of the excitement.
