The color is a bit too warm though... Nice pic anyway, it would have been also better if there was a stationary object at the background or foreground of the swan to add depth...

having other objects would have defeated the point of the photo I think particularly as the reflection and ripple supply depth, but yes the colours do need tweaking it's a shame swans go in pairs its very difficult to get a shot with one on their own even this shot has a shadow.

no, its simply a cloud came over, that was the best of the composition shots so I thought I would share it, the nice thing about digital is changing colour contrast is pretty quick and easy the finished partner shot of the pair sold yesterday for £100 to local council for brochures, but I like the above composition so am not planning on selling the finished one.

It was actually just an opinion, as the object (the swan) is centered in the frame, I agree the reflection is what makes it unique, however even without the stationery objects if it was positioned along the "grid rules" then it could add to the beauty of an already beautiful photo...
I actually had a gay period in my photography life, experimenting with macro photography and exotic plants. i think I still have it online at
http://www.demonhale.com/gallery*edit, yes it's still on that link.

I will get you to get the swan to line up for me ;) it took almost an hour of sitting on the edge of the water to get him/her on their own.
Don't worry I wasn't offended, I had a set of objectives with the photo, but it is following a tight set of grid rules with the crop, I will post the finished edit in a bit, I'm currently redoing the colour as I type

lol most ducks have odd heads when you get close up, though feeding them bread is bad for them ;) Just like hedgehogs buy some feed, though I feel for the local swans simply providing fresh blood is enough :)

Maybe a result of too much fighting with the other ducks...

Hey I wonder if we can start a thread about day to day photos webmasters take of and add some story to it so it can be a little interesting...
