I'm using that technique too but press release is kinda prostrating co'z free submission press release sites are rare ???

Yeah... it needs a lot of work when optimizing your website... since you want to build links on it and want to rank it on top to different search engines then you must apply all the strategies that you have in mind... I do not like to use automated softwares... I do it manually

Liz I don't think that posting on classified ads has any SEO value.  Unless of course thay are permanent and dofollow links.

Blog creation and social networking are also helpful for link popularity.

automated blog commenting is useful too. But be warned - the low end software ("Hi, love your post! htto://www.viag5a.com") won't work. You need the top end AI stuff that posts in context.

of course there is... if you have good classified ads and viewers are impressed with it or viewers are interested with your products then for sure they will visit your site.. and that click is a traffic to your site... do you think it does not help?

Blog commenting and forum posting are more fast indexed link. Directory sites is quality link too however more slowly to indexed.

Submission to the directories I think that is no longer current but yahoo and dmoz ...
I would add the submission RSS feed to rss directories, and  web 2.0 ...

There are some very basic SEO techniques and pretty useful except that I haven't used a few of these like press releases, search engine submission, and Link exchange..I think search engine submission is only most useful out of these three.

i agree with you. many people do not know, exchanging links is an effective way to attract visitors.
if you have blog. very important to have some co-operate with another blog.

I do form posting most of the time to get quality backlinks and get success also , then i also try submitting my sites to some Rss feed generator, that will create more backlinks and then mass ping them, there are other ways also to get more traffic like Social networking, Social bookmarking that i have worked on and got my target achieved.

You didn't mention the dofollow blog commenting which is very important nowadays, everyone is using it!

use only dofollow link submission resources and submit link under most relevant category.

Exchanging links is indeed an effective way to get traffic for your website.
But i think getting One-way links will be more effective. Quality backlinks are very essential in internet marketing.
