Using Ad Sharing Forums to Promote Your Site Elsewhere

WebDigity is one of those forums that share its ad space with its members.

I recently found another way of promoting my site aside from placing it in my signature. I joined an ad exchange and placed my banner on the ad-sharing space on the upper right corner of this page so I will earn credits for my own ad which will be displayed on other sites that are also a member of the exchange.

I guess that can work.

I haven't done anything similar in the past, but I would really like to know how that works for you.

So please keep us posted :)

ive tried numerous banner exchanges in the past. regular banners (468 x 60) dont work but text ad exchange like the one you see on top, is quite effective. they are patterned after Adsense ads, and are also customizable.

The adds don't seem very targeted, I'm seeing one for a male magazine and another for free stock market tools! not sure they have much to do with web digity other then some members may be male and some may have stocks?

That's the problem with these banner exchanges, you have your banner displayed somewhere each time you display someone else's banner. No telling what you will be displaying on your site, or on what kind of site your banner will show up.

Most of the banner exchanges are general (meaning that there are total unrelevant sites advertised) and the most important is that they are fool of cheaters.

the one on top can be targeted because they have different categories to choose from. i just didnt bother. their default is general so thats why the ads are irrelevant. ive been monitoring the clicks coming from here and would you believe its NOT BAD?

maybe its because of the color? sorry Nik for taking the clicks to your ads! he he he

one downside with banner exchanges is other members tend to place their banner way below their page so surfers seldom see it. they just want the credits for the impressions, not the clicks.

my ctr with banner exchanges is just 1%. but its ok... its free anyway.

1% is very good. For CPM campaigns you can't except a CTR bigger than 2,5%
