I've worked with Windows 7 Home for the past year on my new laptop. Cannot say there's anything special about it that I love, but my overall experience has been a good one. It seems more stable than what I used before and the laptop works nicely with it.
What's your OS of choice and what makes it special for you?

Windows XP, SP3. So much faster and more reliable than this new stuff. (And Linux is a pain!)

Windows 7 is fantastic. Although I do like OSX quite a bit too. I think Microsoft "borrowed" quite a bit from apple.

Yes many think that Linux is a pain. I wonder if they just do not take the time to get to know how to use it?

Do operating systems depend on the use of the computer? I mean, like if you are saving bulk data on your computer, is there an OS that could be used for that?
