What are you looking for?

As some of you may know, I write and sell web content. I have done some article writing for several members of the Webdigity family - and have also been watching the rise in popularity of PLR articles and thinking that it might be worth my while to write some.

It seems that most of the PLR articles available on DP and other places are primarily on web marketing (makes sense as they are probably fairly quick for most experienced webmasters to produce). I am thinking I might get more business if I spent some time and researched a topic and then wrote say 5 - 10 articles on that topic and offered them as a package.

The question then becomes what niches/topics are folks looking for. I've got a few ideas based on what sites are selling quickly and high over on DP; but, I was hoping some of you may offer some suggestions as to what topics you would like to be able to get more articles on.

So, to make a long question short - if you were in the market to buy PLR articles - what topics would you be looking for?

I guess that depends on the niche of each webmaster.

Personally I would buy PLR articles in any webmaster related topic (marketing, seo, monetization, affiliate programs, etc.)

I guess as most of the webmasters have webmaster related blogs - at least most of the people in this forum - I guess that would sell more.

How about a newsletter series? I'd be interested in a series of 20 to 40 mini-articles that I can send out as a weekly newsletter. Please PM me your rates for a job like this!

What do you mean by mini-articles (length etc) and when you say 20-40 is that per week or stretched out over several weeks?

I'm looking for something like 300 - 600 words. The 20 to 40 newsletters would be send out by me one at a time, so basically that would give me content for 20 to 40 weeks.

Method - I saw that post and didn't understand what you were offering. Someone else has asked, so I'll wait for your answer over there on the Hire People forum. Also are you recrafting free for reprint articles or true PLR type articles? Seems like if they are traditional free for reprint where the author is expecting their bio to remain that to recraft/edit/rewrite them fails to follow the spirit of reprint articles in general.

Nickolas - Your answer surprises me as I was thinking that topic might have too many free articles and folks reselling huge PLR packs to be able to sell well.

The newsletter question has me thinking ... do those of you with newsletters ever exchange articles/summaries for advertising? And, how many subscribers do you have if you do?

No one has any hobby/non-web related sites? Besides Olaf that is; I know at least one of his.  ;D

The newsletter articles I'm looking for are for non-webmaster related topics, a few different ones actually

Personally I am buying content - when I do - to use if for my sites, not to sell it anywhere, so as my sites are mostly webmaster related, I can't use any other kind of content :)

I have a newsletter of about 800 members which I don't really use as the number is too low to make money of it, and the risk is big as most of those members will think that I am spamming them if I send them an email (even that they opted in to the list)

Any particular topic relating to webmastering? You and Olaf would have to teach me first if you wanted heavy php or scripting. ;)

I've wondered too about newsletters and getting a spam complaint. (I keep debating on whether or not to make one for Crafty Tips.) I've seen in several forums where people who double opted-in still filed spam complaints. Seems if they double opted-in and complain - the spam police should tell them to get lost.

Spam is a really big issue. That's why is better to host your list to an automated service, instead of hosting your mailing script. Of course this will help only if you post masked links.

I learned that "beginner tutorials" are much better for lots of traffic, writing something special what people need to learn first are good for your reputation but not for lots of visitors ;)
