I want to make a new website but I want set dimensions. My last website I put width and height to 100% and it looked weird. What do you guys usually put your websites dimensions to? I want it to look good but have a set amount.

I usually set my width to 850px and make the height free to expand... And sometimes I use fluid layouts, not set width and height but will auto-adjust to the browser screen...

You can also use 960 grid framework. Many designers around the world are using it as it has the concept of typography:

I usually make my websites 960px in width and as for the height I just make it so it can stretch as long as it needs to.

In photoshop when designing this, and keep the width to 900px or 1024px and height to 1200px. Slide the pictures carefully and then closed your design. It will look good and your CSS will not be easy. Sure concerns rise. Should be on every page to increase or decrease depending on the content of the page.
In some designs, you can try to use the full width of the headers and footers by using the frequency o in the background in the CSS.

I think it depends on the content of the site. Will you have large pictures? Will it be mostly text articles? It makes a difference.

900 px is the best size for your website just keep in mind that your vertical bar can run but try to avoid your horizontal bar to scroll

The ideal size would be 800x600 but if you can make it more than that, it would be better.

I normally set my website width at around 900-1000. 960 is in many programs like wysiwyg by default.

I recommend fluid lenght - site can expand downwards, actually find the whole question about that slightly odd
width: depends on the device - so basically 2 answers required here.
960px is very common for "regular" or non mobile web
Mobile web is a bit trickier , many different devices - in terms of requirements you'd need navigation bar to show in fuill - but the issue is more to do with hiow someone holds the device - portrait or landscape/horizontal or vertical --> that changes the dimensions.
As far as I can remeber the recommendation is actually not to set the width, inorder to achive the fully fluid transition between the 2 states - I recommend you google the details.
