yes right, the fun is not only the game. While building a gilde, you start a kind of social community. The bad thing is that you need to pay for "rubies" to get max. from the game

hehe, I remember me the gameforge bot has asked me to join "ikariam" too but I was too busy after the release. If you're one week out you loose a lot of rankings and the leader becomes stronger and stronger :(
