I just got a new domain name (adv.erti.se) and could need some ideas what to do with it. I know I want to do a project related to advertising, but not exactly what so please give me some suggestions.

I think it's very hart to use that name for branding.

people like to enter URL's like www.domain.com or domain.com

I think it could be also a problem for seo because your site is just a sub-domain

Olaf you mean like how its hard for people to remember del.icio.us?

depends on where you're looking :) (there are people doesn't understand the difference between a URL and some email address)

if you have enough buzz (just like delicius) you can go for it that way :)

I can agree with all of you. To use a dot in the middle is not the best way, but it could work anyway like with del.icio.us.

adverti.se was unfortunately already taken so I had to go with the second best option :D

Do you have any ideas for usage of the domain?

I can think of loads of little project that it could be used for but what sort of things were you after, I mean the obvious thing is to have something quite viral on their so a tool of some sort

I think this domain would be great for a big project like an advertising network, or something like that. Another idea that comes to my mind is a site with reviews (in a community style) of advertising networks or even web sites that offer advertisement plans.

In my opinion if you don't have the time/money to develop such a project, you should try to sell it.

agree with Olaf, i can t remeber this del.icio.us. Really.. all time finding true google .. well, i know its sounds silly, but i hate anything with dot in a middle. Well, just my opinion - nothing personal. :)

I would say that increase its awareness among people and ask companies to advertise on it  because they will get a lot of benefit...
