code for logged in user on a public page

Hi,

 I'm unsure what code to include at the top of the page and the body of the page to display code to logged in users on a public page.

 Let's say I have a public page. However, if a user is logged in, I want to include a link with their user id.  However, the public people will still be able to view the page, just not the link.
