Just read in Lee Odden's blog about a new acquisition in the web promotion industry.
This time Vocus, a public relations company, acquired prweb, one of the biggest (or better the biggest) press release syndication service (BTW they are a great service to use to announce your new site :) )

Propably not, but you can use it for bigger sites, or bigger contests, or anything that the media would be interesting to.
For example the million dollar homepage project was mostly promoted through a press release.

Then is this site working the same way then regular news sites, just publishing the news where they think that its interesting for a big group of people... I think that the "million dollar homepage" wasn't that successfull if someone has blocked this kind of information...

yes right this makes it different but they decide to publish something for the same kind of reason then a news publisher does...olaf
