What do you look for in Shared Hosting and why?
I basically look at the limits and if its worth the price. I also make sure that they wont charge on features that are suppose to be free.

Pretty much all hosts are almost the same these days. It really depends on your budget.
Make sure your host is in the US, I got a canadian host one day and regretted it so bad, was 2/3 of the price of my US host and was 3x slower (VISTAhosting)

Uptime, Reliability, SLA should be considered . Support is also more important. Which type of support is available i.e. ticket / live chat / telephone.

US hosting, don't care about the price unless it's stable and good quality. See this FirmMonster.com for more hosting tips
