I have a strange problem with Apache 2.2. I've just compiled it in a new Debian based server, and it does not recognize the ErrorDocument directive in htaccess.

I have used other directives and it seems that htaccess files work. Also I have seen the error logs, and it doen not find several files that I try to get in order to activate the ErrorDocument 404 directive.

Now if I use the directive <directory> in the virtual host configuration like :

Code:
  <Directory "/usr/local/apache2/htdocs/.........">
    ErrorDocument 404 /tmp.htm
  </Directory>

It will work. But If I use a php page instead of this it wont!

Can you please help me solve this?

Any help will be appreciated.
