Do people like domain names with 3 characters?

I see that in the domain auctions they are getting the best prices, but is it worth of buying?

There are benefits, but dissadvantages also, when using a 3 letter domain.

The main benefit is that people will remember your domain easier. But it almost impossible to find a small domain that will mean something for your audience.

I mean if you are selling dns services, and you have the domain dns.com it is ideal. But what if you own the domain aie.com ?
I think that this way none will remember your domain even if it is a small one.

So my advice is to get a small domain name only if it is suitable to your site's content. Of course this advice is almost impessible to fit in the reallity, as the whole of the small domain names are owned by someone in these days.

So it would be better to buy a bigger domain with some keywords relative to your site's content, for your SEO.

I would say they are of great value especially ones that are easy to pronounce!
This is due to the fact they are limited and most of not all are already registered

If you can get a LLL.com, or a NNN.com, id say go for it. Dont get j9c.cc or anything tho..IMHO its not worth it

I don't think they are worth the cost.  Get a $7.95 brandable domain name and spend the extra on advertising it.

The best to get are 3-letter ones that actually have a meaning (sex.com anyone?). They fetch a tidy sum, but your average mortal doesn't have any chance of getting them.

to me a 3 letter domain is great because for one reason is that it is hard to find a 3 letter domain now, seems like almost all are taken, second it can be bought by a big company from you for alot of money like aol.com, abc.com nbc.com :-D
