I am sure that ISPs and telephony companies were retaining data for a period of time, but not nearly as long as 2 years. Now telephone and Internet records may be kept for up to two years in Europe now.

Some may think that this is imposing on their privacy even more now, even althought they are not actually recording the conversations. I wonder just how much detail they keep?

I think that the cost to store all this data is going to be a big issue though!  Angry

They are not actually recording the conversations as this is a job for echelon....

The cost would be incredible, and I suppose this will be a bif problem for the small companies. I hope that I won't have to do this too as my server (actually the one that we are installing right now) is in the usa.

I think all of these stuff are pointing to somewhere. If you go back ten years, it would be impossible to make a law like this one, but now almost every country in the world is like the 'big brother' for their citizens.

The cost? Sky high, my friend. And who do you think will pay it? Me and you. We'll have to pay to have our communications logged... hey, what's that smell? Smells like 1984, doesn't it?

I hate that we pay (with one way or another) for this war against "terrorism".

After all they created the problem, and then they create the solution. This smells really bad my friend, and it is really sad because in this game there are million dead people plus people who suffer, except the millions of dollars and the power that they play for....
