I think if your site is useful it will be linked by others. It's simple as that Smiley

If that is true then you just need some boost from social media and it should work alone

The best links are the natural links that are obtained through building them each day through the use of forums, blogs, and article marketing. The search engines like to see high-quality links that are steady. In other words, you don't want to come out of the gate building tons of links and then zero the next, keep it steady and over time, you'll see definite results.

No i wont suggest you go for link wheel. As the name suggests it links one site to another and keeps redirectting the one site to other. This way the process becomes time consuming. Better you go for forums, social bookmarking.

There are many ways to create backlinks like forum posting, mass ping option, Rss Feed Generator, Social Networking like facebook, twitter, but before that you have to keep in mind what ever you do , if your content is not unique than it is of no use and key words are very important.

I've heard about the link pyramid which seems a very nice technique! Make 1000 PR0 links point to one of your backlinks. That backlink will get a pr4-pr3 and it will further help your rankings!

Build Back links from trusted sites. create profile on professional & social media networks.Getting one back link from one edu site is more efficient than links from 1000 links from pr0 sites.
