Facebook ads are an excellent way to reach very specific groups. You can select your target market based on age, location and interests. This will get your brand in front of people who will be receptive to your message. The ad will feature an image and a short amount of copy which will link through to your chosen URL. This makes it a great way to drive targeted traffic to your website.

I will probably use the facebook ads sometimes. As Danny said, it's very customizable which is of chief help to finding the right visitors.

I use FB ads... they're pretty useful if you narrow your target audience and interests.

A lot of my friends use Facebook for their advertisements. And it seems that it works for them. Especially, they could easily connect with people plus the fact that friends of friends even spread the advertisement they have.

It is a waste of time, and money, providing you have a lot of free websites to promote your website or blog online, such as:

Stumble, Twitter, Reddit, Traffup, Digg, Hubpages, Zimbio, Squidoo, Wordpress.com
