I've done the "enable javascript" thing, and I've downloaded the update several times and it always says it is successful, but still I can't go on any websites. I also tried downloading it to my desktop. it still always says, "you need to update or enable javascript". how else can I fix it?

JavaScript can be made on computer by you with these following tips: Inside explorer... 1. Click "Tools" --> "Internet Options" 2. Select the Advanced Tab, and scroll down to "Java " 3. Check the box next to the Java version 4. Next, select the Security Tab, and select the "Custom Level" button 5. Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets" 6. Make sure the "Enable" radio button is checked. 7. Click OK to save your preference.?

As what is pointed out, they are different although they come from the same roots. Java is a programming language and on the other hand it allows the computer to run certain files like applets and what not. Javascript, as the name implies, is a scripting language used on web pages.

Are you confusing JavaScript with Java? All you should need to get JavaScript working is enabling it- there is no download. Maybe its a problem with the site? You can also try another web browser

This may be because the JavaScript is turned off from you computer or you don't have the latest Flash player that could run the script.

Java is a programming dialect and on the other hand it permits the computer to run certain documents like applets and what not. Javascript, as the title suggests, is a scripting dialect utilised on world broad web pages.
