Oh! Thanks. I guess so. It's a disappointing news for me. Then I have to turn to some other platforms to raise the PR.

Facebook is just for the short-term traffic, and probably for getting some clicks on the ads, nothing more! It cannot help the pagerank!

Face book will not be helpful to increase your site page rank. we can get more traffic and back links from social media networks. If you concentrate on increasing PR request you to do forum posting, article submission, social book marking and blog commenting.

Page Rank is different. With facebook you can increase the traffic for your site. If you wish to increase your PR. Let me suggest something. 1. Participate in Forums. Most forums allows signature where you can place a link to your website. It will be better if the forum is related with your niche. 2. Submit to search engine directories. You can get a free link to your website with the use of Search Engine Directories. They also boost your chances at being listed higher on trendy search engines like Google. More links = high PR 3. Links from related websites. Obtaining links from related websites can be one of the most frustrating tasks you can attempt. One-way links are better than exchanging links with other sites.

FB backlinks are no-follow... they won't have direct effect on your PR.

You shouldn???t be too much worried about your website???s page rank. Google never felt that it was such a big factor in deciding rankings...You should be more after traffic and SERPs...And yes, Facebook can definitely help you get huge traffic and high SERPs.

Facebook is often used for viral marketing, another way of mouth to mouth referral marketing method but at much greater speed and scale if is done correctly. Ultimately, is a traffic driver as for PR, from what I know it doesn't help.
