Has any other forum member here organised and SEO contest successfully? I tried organising one at my forum with a prize money of ?£1,000 cash for the winner and a few hundreds for the 2,3, and 4. I did not quite get the 15 participants I needed to get it started.
I wonder what I did wrong, anyone here ever organised an SEO contest?

Well, the prizes you offer were very huge. You should have promoted that contest everywhere on the internet, I think you would have got at least 50 participants!

What might be the purpose of building an SEO contest? Does this activity improve rankings or it will optimize your page, sites or search engines? Does this ever exist at all? Is it successful then?
